Eleven sub-Saharan migrants have been intercepted about ten miles off Tarifa as they tried to make their way to mainland Spain in a small inflatable boat.
As so often happens, one of the passengers on board the small craft phoned the authorities to say that they were in distress and needed rescuing. They were taken to Tarifa port.
There were ten men and one woman in the boat, all adults, and all were in apparent good health.
