11 migrants intercepted off Tarifa

Eleven sub-Saharan migrants have been intercepted about ten miles off Tarifa as they tried to make their way to mainland Spain in a small inflatable boat.

Drugs haul in Algeciras

Officers from the Agencia Tributaria (Inland Revenue) have intercepted a boat carrying 4.5 tons of hashish and have arrested three crew members on charges of crimes against the public health. The boat, the Phoenix III, was intercepted ten miles off Algeciras. The source and destination of the drugs is not yet known.
