An eight month old baby died in the early hours of this morning after a boat carrying 14 illegal immigrants capsized off Melilla.
The boat, carrying ten men, three women and the baby, capsized near the lighthouse in the area known as Trápana at around 01:30.
Divers were sent to the boat and the remaining passengers were rescued. The three women needed medical attention and were transferred to the Hospital Comarcal. Two of the women were later discharged while the third remains hospitalised suffering from hypothermia and respiratory problems.
