Visitor numbers to the Nerja Caves up by over 30% during Easter

The Nerja Caves received a total of 8,684 visitors over the Easter period, an increase of 34% over 2013.

The Nerja Caves Foundation has been extending its promotional campaigns and there has apparently been an increase in the number of visitors from cruise ships as well as people taking advantage of special or bonus offers from hotels.

The Foundation has also reported an increase in the number of groups participating in the ‘after hours’ guided tours of the Nerja Caves.

There is now a ticket machine at the Caves which accepts credit cards, allowing many to avoid the queues which can build up at the ticket office at certain times of the year.
