The public exhibition of the plans for the development of El Playazo beach, due to end on April 28th 2014, has been extended for one month because of the great importance of this project for the municipality.
Amongst the important actions involved in the development project are a considerable increase in the surface area of the current beach, construction of a promenade and the construction of tourist and residential accommodation. All these are said to be of great economic benefit and essential to the future of tourism in Nerja.
Not everyone is in favour of this massive development which will see a promenade, hotels and thousands of residential homes, however, and the plan does not have unanimous support within the full Council.
