First talked about in 2012, repairs to the fishing boat ‘La Dorada’ in Parque Verano Azul have finally started.
The boat was far more badly damaged than was originally thought and the Council sent a request to the TV broadcaster RTVE to share the cost of the repairs, the TV company being responsible for the hit series ‘Verano Azul’.
However, the Council did not receive a satisfactory answer from RTVE and is now funding the repairs itself, the current budget being €36,245.90.
The first part of the work is being undertaken on the interior of the old fishing trawler. The repair work is expected to take about six months, therefore covering the busy summer tourist period.
