After two years of delay, Vélez-Málaga Council is set to award the contract for the pedestrianisation of calle Del Mar in Torre del Mar, the aim being completion by Christmas.
The idea is for completion to coincide with the start of the new ‘blue zone’ parking tax at the end of the year and before the next municipal elections.
The contract, worth €454,000, is being awarded to Albuñol SA and should be signed next week which will allow the work to start in October. The completion period has been set at three months.
