Unemployment in Spain rose by 19,720 in September, although the government gave this a positive spin by saying that it was the lowest increase in September unemployment since 2007.
In Andalucia, another 10,665 people found themselves no longer with gainful employment, many of these in the service sector.
In Málaga province, unemployment rose by 2,761.
