Official in Sevilla received his mother’s pension for 19 years after her death

A former head of the Social Security in Sevilla is facing a request for six years imprisonment for fraudulently claiming and receiving the widow’s and military pension of his mother for a period of 19 years after her death.

Despite his official responsibilities, the former head of the Social Security decided not to report the death of his mother and forged her signature on the ‘Controles de vivienca’, a document required to verify that the recipient of the pensions is still alive.

He claimed a total of €137,000 and is charged with fraud and forgery.
