Barcelona have reached their 37th Copa del Rey final with a 6-2 aggregate win over Villarreal and will play Athletic Bilbao in the final.
Curiously, Barcelona lead the way with Copa del Rey wins, they have triumphed 26 times over the years, and Athletic are not far behind with 23 wins. Real Madrid have won the cup 19 times.
Athletic Bilbao, however, have not won the cup since 1984 when they beat Barcelona in the final. Their last final appearance was in 2012 when they lost 3-0 to….Barcelona.
Neymar scored twice on Wednesday evening, the first goal coming after just three minutes, and Suarez added the third. Dos Santos scored for Villarreal.
Athletic reached the final with a 0-2 (1-3 on aggregate) win over Espanyol, Aduriz and Etxeita scoring the goals.
