Maroween – a combination of Halloween and the Festival of the Horse Chestnut and Sweet Potato – takes place in the village of Maro on October 31st and November 1st.
Saturday October 31st:
- 11:00 – Opening of the festivities with crafts markets and food stalls in calle Real.
- 17:00 – Entertainment and activities in the square in front of the church.
- 20:00 – Passage of Horrors taking place in the local school premises.
- 20:30 – Stoking the fires and sampling of chestnuts and sweet potatoes.
Sunday November 1st:
- 14:00 – Paella for one and all, during which time you can find out what is in store for you by consulting the various Tarot readers and futurologists who will be present.
On Saturday there will be a shuttle bus service between Nerja and Maro operating from 18:00 and 02:00.
