Breast Cancer Survival Rates Increased by 20% in Malaga

Today, Monday 19th October 2020 is International Breast Cancer Day.

Positive data now shows that the survival rates against the disease in Malaga has increased to 87%.

This is a 20% increase in survival compared to the rates taken 30 years ago.

According to the Andalusian Society of Medical Oncology (SAOM), there will be around 1,100 cases of breast cancer detected in 2020. But thanks to the advances in research, the early detection and treatment of breast cancer has significantly increased survival rates in Malaga.

The Association of Women operated on for Breast Cancer in Malaga (Asamma), has called on both private companies and organizations to continue to commit to research. “We want to reach 100% survival… that is why it is essential to continue supporting research.”
