Another round of payments to suppliers

Rincón de la Victoria Council has approved emergency measures to pay more than 2,000 bills outstanding to a total of 214 companies for a total amount of 12.2 million euros.

Changes to rubbish collection service

Rincón de la Victoria is the first municipality to stop night collection of rubbish from containers, a move the Council believes will save them €973,000 per year.

Council sets target of 50,000 residents by 2015

Rincón de la Victoria Council has set a goal of having 50,000 people registered on the local census (padrón) by the year 2015, a figure which means they could have 25 Councillors rather than 21 as at present.

22 people benefit from employment workshop

The Serrezuela employment workshop in Rincón de la Victoria will see 22 people under the age of 25 years receive training and practical experience in gardening and masonry.

International Day against Breast Cancer

Rincón de la Victoria Council and Clinicas Rincón have set up a programme to provide thirty women with free mammograms as part of the celebration of the International Day against Breast Cancer.

Youth convicted of indecent exposure

The 21-year-old youth detained on Saturday for allegedly trying to sexually abuse a 10-year-old girl in the toilet block on the promenade in Rincón de la Victoria has appeared in court for a ‘speedy trial’ and has received an eight month fine at €8 per day (total €1,920) for the crime of indecent exposure.

New park in Torre de Benagalbón

The Mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Saladao, has inaugurated a new recreation area in Los Rubios,  Torre de Benagalbón.

Free summer films

For the second year, the ‘Cine y Toalla’ (Film and Towel) programme will operate on La Cala del Moral beach near the arroyo San Juan. This is a series of free films starting on July 27th at 22:30 with a screening of Madagascar 3.
