Calle El Barrio, February 16th 2012

Calle El Barrio is now being dug up for the second time and will probably need to be dug up for a third time before the project is finished. According to our information, the road could be complete some time in April 2012.

Calle El Barrio continues in upheavel and will remain so for some time to come, but hopefully it will look good when it is all finished.

Calle El Barrio, January 18th 2012

It has been virtually non-stop work in calle El Barrio since the works began, most unusual. The works, at least the first phase, are almost to Plaza Cavana.

State of play in calle El Barrio

The roadworks in calle El Barrio are now up to the nailshop with the previous stretch all neatly filled in. There is still, of course, the actual pedestrianised bit yet to be done which will mean another pass along the street. Whether this will be done this year or next October remains to be seen.

Calle El Barrio December 9th 2011

Definitely appears to be Plan B in calle El Barrio with work continuing at the avenida Castilla Perez end of the street. The original idea was Plaza Cavana to cafe El Barrio this year and the rest next October. Very noisy when the diggers are working.

Traffic now diverted in Avenida Castilla Perez

The diversion is in place in avenida Castilla Perez due to the roadworks at the junction with calle El Barrio, although that didn’t stop numerous people driving around the barrier and signs and then having to back up the street.

Work starts on calle El Barrio

Work has actuallt started on the renovation of calle El Barrio in Nerja, a few green markings placed on the road on Monday and today a series of holes drilled into the pavement and steel bars inserted.

Calle El Barrio roadworks to start on Monday

The renovation of calle El Barrio in the centre of Nerja is scheduled to start on Monday and will cover the area from Plaza Cavana to the cafe El Barrio. The estimated completion time is four to five months.

Calle El Barrio project must have been delayed

At the beginning of September the Council approved the specifications for the pedestrianisation of calle El Barrio, the first phase covering the area from Plaza Cavana to cafe El Barrio, at a cost of €275,984 and to start after the feria in October. Well, no sign of it starting yet.
