Nerja Carnival 2013
The weather stayed fine, clear skies, for the 2013 Carnival – Carnaval – procession through the streets of Nerja. A bit nippy late on but one can’t really complain, much better than in the past few years. Great participation in the procession and very colourful. Carnival 2013 Photos

On Saturday January 26th at 21:00 in the Peña Axarquia is the presentation of this year’s Carnaval poster, which is the work of young local artist Yolanda Pérez.
Frigiliana Carnival 2012
Frigiliana Carnival is on Saturday February 25th with the procession starting at 17:00 from near the multi-purpose Hall and following the route Avda Príncipe de Asturias, Avda de Andalucía, Calle San Sebastián, Avda Carlos Cano, Calle Chorruelo, Calle Real and ending up in the Plaza de las 3 Culturas. Nerja Carnival, Friday February 17th 2012
Today was, amongst other things, the fancy dress show and competition for the kiddies and it was a full house in the marquee in Plaza de España. The youngest competitor was four years old and all (or their parents) had taken a great deal of effort with the costumes, as usual.
Maro Carnival 2012
Carnival in Maro will take place on Saturday February 25th with the procession through the streets starting at 17:00 and the burial ceremony at 22:30. Most of the other activities will take place in the Social Centre.

Nerja at Fitur 2012
Fitur 2012, the annual tourism fair, is being held in Madrid and Nerja is being represented on the Costa del Sol Tourist Board stand and on Friday, the Nerja crew will be extolling the virtues of Carnival.
Woman injured after balcony collapses in Cuevas del Almanzora
One woman remains hospitalised, although her condition is not said to be serious, following the collapse of a balcony in calle Rambla, Cuevas del Almanzora (Almería).
