From the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary: Nerja Donkey Sanctuary is in desperate need of funds. In the winter months the Sanctuary is always a bit quiet but this year has been the hardest yet. We just scraped through November with help from a campaign on Facebook and the website, and the wonderful donations of food made through horse1.
Plea for help
The Donkey Sanctuary is a popular attraction for both young and old and relies on volunteers and donations to keep going. What the sanctuary desperately needs at the moment is volunteers, as is explained in this note from the Donkey Sanctuary.

Valentine’s Day meal and bingo
On February 14th at 19:30, Bakers’ Bar on Burriana beach is hosting a Valentine’s Dinner followed by Bingo – proceeds going to Nerja Donkey Sanctuary. Two course meal 14 euros, bingo 4 euros. Prizes, jackpot and a raffle. Please book directly at Bakers’ Bar with your deposit for the meal.
Nerja Donkey Sanctuary Fair
The Nerja Donkey Sanctuary is holding a Fair on Sunday, February 26th from 13:00 to 18:00 with stalls including Indian head massage, a mobile tack stall, Truly Madly Baby, Pet Supply and Cake stall. Activities and events include a clear round jump-off, Gymkhana, bouncy castle, pony rides, BBQ, bar, veggie food and much more.
Donkey Sanctuary Christmas Open Day
Mulled wine, mince pies and a raffle are on offer tomorrow, Saturday December 18th, during the Christmas Open Day at the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary from 11:00 to 14:00. Don’t forget to take a carrot or two.

A bit of a damp start to the day but it’s only water after all. The Nerja Donkey Sanctuary is having a Halloween Open Day so it was time to grab the camera and head down to see the animals.
Donkey Sanctuary summer opening times
The Nerja Donkey Sanctuary has changed to summer opening hours for the months of July and August, the times being 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00 daily. Don’t forget to take a carrot or three.

New summer hours at the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary. During the whole of July and August, the sanctuary will be open from 10:00-14:00 and 17:00-20:00 during the week and 10:00-14:00 at weekends.
