Starting today, Saturday June 23rd, lifeguards will be in attendance on Maro, Burriana, Carabeíllo, Calahonda, El Salón, Torrecilla, El Chucho and El Playazo beaches. There will be two coordination posts one on Burriana beach and one on Torrecilla. Rescue vessels and a jet ski will also be available.
PSOE denounce lifeguard selection process
The PSOE in Nerja has denounced the procedures used by the Council to select and hire 69 lifeguards for the beaches in the municipality during the summer period.
Two hundred applications for summer lifeguard vacancies
A total of 200 people, mostly under the age of 30 years, have applied for the 69 vacancies for summer lifeguards on the beaches of Nerja. The interviews and physical tests are due to start shortly.

From Monday May 30th to 14:oo on June 3rd, applications can be made for the position of lifeguard on Nerja’s beaches.
20 lifeguards on duty in Rincón de la Victoria
A total of twenty personnel will be on duty on the beaches of Rincón de la Victoria from now until September 15th to monitor and assist the public.
The beaches now have lifeguards
From now until September 15th, there will be lifeguards on the beaches between 11:30 and 20:00. In total there will be 69 lifeguards employed on the various beaches.
