Suspicious but harmless…

These bathers were casting a suspicious eye on a small, orange slick on Carabeillo beach. The slicks are caused by spawning anchovy and sardines and have been appearing all along the Costa del Sol. A natural phenomenon, they are apparently non-toxic. They just ‘look bad’, unlike the ‘other slicks’ we get from time to time, which ‘are bad’!

The seas near the beaches of Rincón de la Victoria and Benajarafe are the latest to witness orange slicks, previously these were seen in Nerja and Almayate.
