Virgen del Carmen 2012 photos
This year, the Virgen del Carmen procession marched all the way down to Torrecilla beach and then all the way back up again as the waves were too strong for the usual boat procession to Calahonda beach. There were still the fireworks, though.
Early(ish) Sunday morning stroll…
Sunday morning, 10:30, and work was going on in Plaza Fabrica de los Cangrejos in preparation for the Virgen del Carmen celebrations, one of the petanca pistes being turned into a large sardine mound. And the bar was also being set up.
Out and about on a scorcher…
The railings on the Balcón de Europa have been given a lick of paint for the summer visitors – everything is done for the visitors, rarely for the residents – as have many of the road crossings.
Sunny Sunday stroll…
Quite a lot of people down on Burriana beach today and the beachfront Merenderos were doing a very good trade, as they always seem to do. Good food, decent prices and nice atmosphere.
Out and about May 29th 2012…
A fair number of people milling about at the moment enjoying the glorious summer weather. Lovely flat calm sea. Even the feral moggies are looking extremely contented.
San Isidro 2012, Nerja, photos
The day started off a bit cloudy and misty, particularly over the Nerja hills, but it cleared to become quite a scorcher as the ‘Romeria de San Isidro’ got under way. Good day for pedaloes…
Temperatures are rising as predicted, the sea was flat calm and hardly a breath of wind today. Lots of pedaloes about, pottering up and down the coast with no waves to worry about.
Out and about May 8th 2012
It started out clear and sunny this morning but the afternoon saw a bit of a offshore sea mist drift in and then everything became hazy before eventually clouding over completely.
Residents Day 2012 photos
The weather cleared and it stayed fine for the rescheduled Residents Day celebrations on Sunday.
