The president of the Association of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol, Axarquia, Oscar Medina, and the manager of the funeral home in Riogordo, Juan Ortiz, have agreed a proposed project for the renovation and expansion of the facility.
Renovations in Fuente de Piedra
Fuente de Piedra Council has awarded the contract to renovate the area around the silo, providing green areas, benches, tables, bins and decorative flower pots. The contract is worth €70,800 and has been awarded to the local company Construcciones y Contratas Fuente de Piedra.
Torre del Mar promenade to be finished by June 2012
According to the mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Francisco Delgado Bonilla, the renovation of the Torre del Mar promenade will be finished by the middle of June next year, in time for the main summer season which, in Torre del Mar, is July and August.
Calle El Barrio roadworks to start on Monday
The renovation of calle El Barrio in the centre of Nerja is scheduled to start on Monday and will cover the area from Plaza Cavana to the cafe El Barrio. The estimated completion time is four to five months.

Tests have begun in Torre del Mar ready for the start of the total renovation of the promenade, a project budgeted at €2,328,695.
Calle El Barrio renovation to start in October
The Councillor for Infrastructure, Antonio García, has been expanding on the plans to renovate calle El Barrio in the centre of Nerja to create a sort of pedestrianised corridor from Parque Verano Azul to the Balcón de Europa.

With calle Antonio Millón in a bit of a state of upheaval at the moment, to say the least, a good time to do a bit of renovating. The Leyland bar is undergoing refurbishment. Whether it will still be Leyland or has changed hands is not clear at the moment.
