Renovation of N-340 between Lagos and Mezquitilla
Vélez-Málaga Council has signed a €500,000 contract with Construcciones Otero S.L. to carry out improvement work to the N-340 between Lagos and Mezquitilla.
Improvement works being carried out on changing facilities at football field
The Councillor for Sports, José Alberto Tomé, has announced that work has already begun to renovate the changing facilities at the artificial turf football field, a project costing €100,000 and financed through the AEPSA programme.
Benalmádena renovating children’s parks
Benalmádena Council has carried out a €30,000 refurbishment of the Salvador Vicente children’s park in Arroyo de la Miel, the first in a planned programme of park renovations.
Renovations at Buddy’s Bar and Diamante Azul.
Buddy’s Bar in calle Málaga, Nerja, is undergoing internal renovation, so one assumes it will be reopening before too long. And there seems to be work going on inside the former Diamante Azul on avenida Mediterraneo.
Holidays and renovations
The Round Bar in calle Gloria is closed for holidays until March, El Puguilla in calle Cristo is closed until February 21st, Pepe Rico is still closed, the Coach and Horses remains closed until April 1st and Pizzeria Holiday has been gutted and is being renovated.
Calle Cervantes to reopen before the Feria
Calle Cervantes, connecting the Camino de Málaga and calle Cristo, will reopen before the Feria de San Miguel, which takes place from September 26th to 30th, according to the Mayor, Francisco Delgado. The works are currently 60% complete.
Renovation of calle Tiendos in Cártama now complete
Cártama Council has completed the renovation of calle Tiendos in the El Sexmo district at a cost of €160,000, funding coming through the Plan Profea. The works included the replacement of underground pipes and the renovation or installation of pavements.
Council requests the Junta de Andalucia to pay outstanding renovation grants
The Council is calling upon the Ministry of Works and Housing of the Junta de Andalucia to pay the outstanding amounts from the 2008 Autonomous Housing Rehabilitation Programme, a scheme whereby local residents, particularly the elderly, unemployed and disabled, would receive financial assistance for essential home renovations.
