The Nerja Council is hoping to persuade the regional authorities to fund further remodelling of the river areas in the municipality, a similar type of project to that which was carried out on the final one kilometre of the Rio Chillar.
Fire in the campo
A fire, thought to have been caused by the uncontrolled burning of stubble, destroyed about five hectares of farm and scrub land along the Rio Seco. Three fire brigade units and two helicopters were involved in controlling the blaze.
