Thefts at San Lorenzo cemetery

Ronda Council has been forced to step up surveillance at the San Lorenzo cemetery following a number of thefts. One of the entrances will be closed at noon each day to try and gain more control over who enters and leaves the premises.

Repairs to rural roads

Ronda Council has started a project to repair a number of rural roads in the municipality which were damaged by the winter rains. The total cost will be around €190,000 and is being financed by the local and provincial authorities.

Research into mass graves in Ronda

Work has started at the San Lorenzo cemetery in Ronda to identify two possible mass graves where it is thought that between 1,700 and 3,000 Civil War victims could be buried.

New Ronda wine centre could be ready in the autumn

The Centro Integral del Vino de Ronda (CIV) – Ronda Wine Centre – is expected to open its doors in the autumn, according to the Council. The building is complete but it has not yet been officially handed over to the Council or been furnished.

Tapas at La Taberna, Ronda

Many, if not most, of the bars and restaurants in the centre of Ronda offer a plate of mixed tapas – usually four cold and four hot – for a fairly standard price of €10 or, in some cases now, for €9. So, ‘when in Ronda…’ as they say.

Investment of €3 million for Ronda

Málaga Provincial Council is to spend more than three million euros on cultural and tourism projects  in the municipality of Ronda. This was announced by the president of the provincial Council, Elías Bendodo, after a visit to Ronda. Projects include a €600,000 district library and the provision of content for the Integral Wine Centre located in the El Fuerte district.
