Meeting to try and unblock fishing agreement with Morocco

The Joint Fisheries Committee is meeting in Rabat to try and unlock the fishing agreement between Morocco and the EU, technical details apparently delaying the return of Andalucian boats to the fishing grounds.

It has so taken nearly three years to agree and ratify a new fishing agreement, but technical details such as landing in Moroccan ports, rate to be applied and the contracting of Moroccan sailors have still not been resolved. This does not please the Andalucian fishermen, mostly from Cádiz, who have been waiting and waiting.

Some fishermen have already paid their licences for August, yet still cannot fish in Moroccan waters.
