Went to the weekly market for the first time in ages – years in fact – and thought I would try some fig bread on offer at a dried fruit stall. Soooo glad I waited until I got home and didn’t begin eating on the hoof!
Looking forward to this fig bread – couldn’t remember if I liked it or not – I carefully cut a small piece to taste and immediately out fell three maggots which then proceeded to wriggle their way across the work surface!!
If I had just opened it and taken a bite on the way home!!!!! You can see one of the maggots in the photo. Didn’t bother to explore the rest of the loaf for obvious reasons!
