Several police officers were slightly injured this morning following a bomb blast in Bilbao.
Early this morning, at around 05:00, police officers apparently found a suspicious briefcase in calle Ibaialde in the La Peña district of Bilbao. The area was cordoned off and local residents were evacuated.
At 05:30, a call was received saying that a bomb was set to explode outside the Basque Socialist Party headquarters at 06:00. And it did.
Two officers suffered hearing damage as a result of the blast and several others received various cuts and bruises. Buildings in the area suffered substantial damage.
