The Nerja Councillor for Urban Planning, Inocencia Quintero, has stated that there is no danger of the lands at El Playazo beach being appropriated.
Her statement followed comments by the opposition PSOE Councillor Luis Peña who, basically, said it was time to get a move on with the project before the Department of Coasts decide to block things and appropriate the land.
Councillor Quintero said that there is an agreement accepted by the Ministry of the Environment on the matter and that there is no cause for concern. She added that Council is working towards getting the current landowners to cede their plots in exchange for others in the area.
On the subject of the demarcation of maritime lands being carried out by the Department of Coasts, she said this was a separate issue and will have no impact on events at Playazo beach.
Still plenty of time for the residual waters to hit the electrical air cooling device on this one…
