A fire yesterday afternoon in an apartment block in calle Buenos Aires, Jerez de la Frontera, necessitated the evacuation of 80 people from their homes.
The blaze began at around 16:45 in a third floor apartment and was eventually extinguished at 06:35 this morning. At this time, all the residents, apart from those living in the apartment where the fire started, were allowed to return to their homes.
No-one was actually injured in the incident but half a dozen people required treatment for anxiety attacks. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
