The deadline for submitting applications for the placing of tables and chairs on the public roads for the ‘year 2009’ is December 31st 2008 and for the ‘season 2009’ it is February 28th 2009.
Any applications received after the appropriate deadline will be deemed inadmissible. Councillor Jonathan Méndez also reminds people that, since 2002, it is no longer permitted to have any sort of advertising on tables, chairs or umbrellas as part of the Nerja ‘image’ policy.
There are some 30 establishments still flouting this regulation and they will shortly be receiving a letter from the Council.
