Random controls in Vélez-Málaga for the next two weeks

From today, January 15th, until January 31st, the Local Police in Vélez-Málaga will be carrying out random checks on scooters and moped in the municipality with regard to noise pollution, the wearing of helmets and ITV inspection.

The controls will be at random times and places with no warning given. Vehicles found to be excessively noisy will be taken to the police headquarters where a proper legal measurement of the noise level will be carried out.

The police will also be paying special attention to the wearing of crash helmets by both riders and passengers and checking whether the vehicles have the requisite ITV inspection sticker.

Vélez-Málaga has recently adopted new municipal ordinances regarding noise pollution.
