A group of children on an estate in Andújar, Jaén, were apparently playing with a pistol when it went off, leaving a ten year old boy in hospital with a gunshot wound to the forearm.
The wounded boy was first taken to the Hospital Alto Guadalquivir, but was later transferred to the Hospital Materno Infantil in Jaén.
Police are now investigating the circumstances of the incident, including how the kids came to be playing with a real gun in the first place.
