The PSOE in Almería has asked for the ongoing proceedings against the former Mayor of Ohanes for bribery and corruption to be stopped, despite the emergence on Monday of a video recording in which money is apparently handed over in exchange for the granting of a building licence.
The recording dates back to 2005 when Mayor Juan Francisco Sierra allegedly recieved money in exchange for granting a building licence for the construction of 25 apartments. The promoter later made an official denuncia against the Mayor.
Juan Francisco Sierra was the Mayor of the tiny municipality of Ohanes for five and a half years before resigning on January 12th 2009, citing ‘health reasons’ for his decision.
