The former socialist mayor of Ohanes inAlmería, Juan Francisco Sierra, is appearing in court again today to answer charges of bribery and corruption.
The former mayor is accused of accepting €30,000 in exchange for the granting of first occupancy licences for 25 houses built in the municipality. The charges relate to 2005, when Sierra was still in office, and a video of the alleged ‘payoff’, taken by the promoter involved in the deal, forms part of the evidence.
