Crackdown on fast food vendors at Málaga feria

The Málaga feria has attracted a number of fast food vendors, some offering an ‘anti-crisis’ menu of meat in a bun for €3, but this had led to complaints by local merchants and restaurants and, so far, fourteen of these itinerant operators have been shut down for alleged permit or hygeine violations.

Twenty Local Police officers were involved in an operation against the illegal sale of food at the weekend following complaints by local traders, many located around La Malagueta beach.

Equipment was consfiscated, the owners of the stalls were reported and around 500 kilos of meat was taken away to be destroyed. One of the reasons given for the closure of many of the stalls was the fact that the meat was not being kept refrigerated.
