Mossos d’Esquadra officers have arrested a 20 year old youth who allegedly shot and killed his heavily pregnant girlfriend.
The incident occurred in Guineueta. The Emergency Services arrived on the scene to find the woman, who was in advanced state of pregnancy, seriously injured with a gunshot wound to the head.
The woman died from her injuries but medical staff were able to save the baby by performing a post mortem Cesarean operation. The baby, a girl, suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest but was successfully revived and stabilised and was then transferred to the Hospital Vall d’Hebron.
The boyfriend of the dead girl, 20 year old Daniel D.T., was arrested on suspicion of murder and the illegal possession of firearms.
