Charges of urban planning violations, corruption, failure to prosecute a crime, sound like another Mayor could be in trouble and he is, this time in Estepona.
The Court of First Instance and Instruction Number 4 in Estepona is investigating allegations of various crimes committed by the Mayor of Estepona, David Valadez. In an added twist, the Mayor only heard about the charges via the media having not received official notification from the court.
Mayor Valadez became Mayor in 2008 and was instrumental in reporting corruption related to the ‘Astapa’ case. The current problem and accusations relate to a house built on a plot of land designated rural and for which no licence was granted.
