Nerja and its beaches are among the top three destinations in Spain and Europe according to hotel price comparison research conducted by Trivago.
The study of the online reputation of European beach destinations is based on the opinions and votes from more than 380,000 Internet users.
The ranking compares the online reputation of fifty most sought after beach destinations in Europe’s during 2009. Spain has sixteen places on the list.
Within the Spanish destinations, first place goes to Palma de Mallorca, with 77.21 points, followed by two locations on the Costa del Sol, Marbella, with 76.65 points, and then Nerja, with 76.28 points. In fourth place is the Costa Adeje in Tenerife, level on points with Nerja.
Within the European ranking, grouping the 50 best beaches on the continent, Nerja is ranked 14th. Top spot goes to Belek on the Turkish Riviera, with 80.31 points.
