The Partido Popular has made a denuncia to the Magistrate’s Court in Mâlaga alleging corruption and city planning violations on the part of the Mayor of Alfarnatejo, Antonio Benítez Barroso (PSOE).
According to the PP, Benítez allowed the construction of houses in the El Cortijuelo area knowing that the land was non-urbanisable and that the issuing of a licence was illegal. Furthermore, he is accused of then allowing several families to illegally register as living in the area.
It is also alleged that the Mayor sought to continue the project through the legal obtaining of a licence for a campsite when, in fact, houses were being built.
