A ten year old child died after entering an irrigation water deposit located between greenhouses on the Carretera de San Silvestrein in El Ejido, Almeria.
The child, of North African origin, had apparently been playing ball with two friends when the ball entered the water. He went into the water to retrieve the ball and subsequently drowned. His friends went to summon help but there was nothing anyone could do for the boy.
