A woman in the town of Castilleja de la Cuesta, Sevilla, has been arrested after she left her eighteen month old baby locked in a car during the heat of the day while she went shopping.
According to local residents, the toddler was left in the car for around two hours in the heat of the day and was showing signs of dehydration. Police officers broke one of the windows of the car to rescue the poor baby.
The mother, aged 34 years, admitted to leaving the toddler in the car ‘for a short time’ while she went shopping. She was charged with the crime of abandonment and then later released.
