The head of the Provincial Government in Málaga, Salvador Pendón, has been visiting Campillos to monitor the status of various infrastructure projects in the municipality, including the indoor swimming pool.
The swimming pool project is apparently 80% complete, with work now being concentrated on the roof structure. It is currently anticipated that the pool will be completed by the end of the summer.
The facility will have two pools, one of 25 metres by 12.5 metres and another of 12.5 metres by 5 metres, and up to 200 people will be able to use the facilities at any given time.
Heating of the pool is to be via solar energy and biomass mechanisms, methods considered more cost effective than conventional fuels.
The total project is costing in the region of €1,8 million.
