Firemen have managed to extinguish a blaze at an agricultural waste processing plant in Almeria, the second incident at such a plant in the past month.
Smoke could be seen for miles around as the agricultural waste, including plastics, burned at the plant in La Mojonera. Local farmers are angry because they pay for proper management of the waste but find that it is not collected properly or on time and this puts their storage areas and warehouses at risk.
The first such fire was on August 7th at the Ejido Medio Ambiente plant and, due to the amount of accumulated waste, smoke can still be seen rising.
