Exercise programme for the elderly at the indoor pool

Under the banner ‘active ageing’, the Department of Social Affairs has started an exercise programme for older people which takes place at the indoor swimming pool.

A similar project was carried out during the summer. The classes are twice per week and an instructor oversees the exercises which are reported as having many benefits for muscles and joints. An added benefit of this type of exercise is that the body remains cooler as it is hydrated throughout the entire process.
