The Taller de la Amistad, whose great work with the intellectually disabled in the area is well known locally, has now been declared a Public Utility Association by the Provincial Council.
The new status means that annual accounts have to be produced and there are various legal and tax benefits deriving from this status.
The Taller de la Amistad held their annual charity dinner at the weekend, raising funds through raffles of numerous items donated by local businesses.
The Mayor of Nerja and a number of Councillors attended the function.
