A go-slow by waste removal operatives in Jaén for the past couple of days is causing rubbish to pile up in certain areas, particularly the old part of town.
The Mayor of Jaén, Carmen Peñalver, has asked the company responsible for the collection of rubbish, FCC, to carry out their obligations under the agreement. FCC were awarded the cleaning contract in 1985.
The Mayor says that she has received no notification of strike action and the current go-slow is a violation of the service contract.
