According to a survey by FUCI (Federación de Usuarios-Consumidores Independientes), Andalucians are expected to spend €85 during the winter sales which start on January 7th 2011.
This amount is 10.6% down on last year. Spending has been declining during the past four years in almost all regions except Madrid and Cataluña.
Madrid at €96 and Cataluña at €95 are at the top of the spending pile and Galicia and the Canary Islands are at the other end, with expected spending being under €80 per capita.
However, the survey also shows that only 50% of Spaniards buy during the sales period, with 81% of those going for textile products.
