The authorities in Moral de Calatrava, Ciudad Real, are investigating the tragic death of a six year old girl after she became trapped in a fairground attraction during the San Blas celebrations.
The girl was accompanied by her father who became concerned when all the other children reappeared from the ride, but not his daughter.
For reasons as yet unknown, the girl became caught in the wheels of the attraction known as the ‘pista americana’. She was rescued alive, but died on the way to the hospital in the ambulance.
Around 4,000 people were attending the San Blas festivities at the feria ground on the explanada de Resamblas. Following the tragic accident, the festivities were suspended.
