Nothing changes as, once again, the lorries begin trundling in with tons of sand to try and repair the beaches along the coast in time for Easter.
In Torrox Costa, where despite years of protests and requests for a permanent solution to the problem of beach erosion, the sand lorries are back on Ferrara Playa. The beach was badly hit by the winter storms.
In the past, it has not been unknown for the beach to be repaired and then destroyed again almost immediately, within a day or two, by sudden storms.
Businesses who utilise Ferrara Playa are also none too happy with the Council after being charged an extra canon for occupation of the beach area. They say that the Council made a commitment to reduce the charge due to the works being carried out on the promenade.
