Cártama Council has entered into negotiations to obtain a large plot of land suitable for a new feria ground and other outdoor events.
The preferred plot, which needs to be between 35,000 and 40,000 square metres to make the project viable, is loacted almost equidistant between Cártama pueblo and Estación de Cártama near the Satgama factory, making it an ideal location.
Planned expansion of the Sports Complex in Cártama to include tennis courts, football stadium, athletics tracks and swimming pool mean that the feria will be forced to leave its current location.
The new, larger site would also allow for a variety of outdoor events.
