It would seem that a number of people in Nerja have been receiving calls from a company suggesting that a visit by them is necessary to analyse the water quality in their homes and/or that it is necessary or obligatory to purchase and install a device for regulating water consumption.
According to the manager of Aguas de Narixa, the company managing the water supply in Nerja, the company is not engaged in any such campaign or activity and the possible use of their company name by the callers is a criminal offence.
These ‘water inspections’ are obviously similar in nature to the bogus ‘gas inspections’ and are just an attempt by unscrupulous individuals or companies to part the unsuspecting from their hard earned cash.
